My Death

When in times of trial
I dream about my death
The day I earn a certificate
For lying very still
And make my new home
Six feet under the ground

It won’t be a sad day
The day of my death
I won’t have to worry
About money
Or the future
Or anything else anymore
For I go on to a better place
A better place than this.
If you shed a tear
I’d be honoured
But please don’t mourn
The day of my death

I don’t know how I’ll be remembered
That’s not really my choice
I don’t know if I ever amounted to much
But most people never do
Lets all be melancholy
Because it’s finally over
My friends they may miss me
I know I’ll miss them too
The good times were good
The bad times so terrible
Those times when I dreamed of my death
When my soul would be free
Of all the pettiness of bureaucracy

I can put it behind me.
And I'll smile upon the day
I’ll be smiling when they find me
Upon on the day of my death
