No One Is In Love With Me

No one is in love with me
How can this be?
I am young
Not unattractive
Tall, and hardly fat
Why am I without love?

No one is in love with me
How can this be?
I have a sense of humour
Which woman are supposed to like
I am clean if not a tad scruffy
Why am I without love?

Oh what I could show them if they’d see me
What I could feel if they’d be with me
I would wrap myself up in love
Basque in my contentment
But this
This is not to be

No one is in love me
How can this be?
My friend’s girlfriends always like me
I’m their favourite friend of their boyfriends
But all the single woman look away
Why am I still without love?

No one is in love with me
How can this be?
I’m tired of my friend telling me
How this temptress asked him
To dumb his girlfriend so she could be with him
Why Am I still without love?

Oh what desires I could fulfil if they’d indulge me
What sins I could commit if they’d join me
I would feel so alive
For the very first time
But alas
This is not to be

They always tell me
That someday I’ll find someone
Will they still be telling me when I’m eighty one?
